QRP Suicide Prevention Training

Join us for a free virtual QPR suicide prevention training. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer - the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Participants will receive additional resource information and a certificate following this training. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to:
  • Recognize the warning signs of suicide
  • Know how to offer hope
  • Learn the 3 simple steps of Question, Persuade, and Refer.
The training is one hour and 30 minutes with an additional optional 15 minutes for role playing and Q&A. The training is led by Monica McConkey, Rural Mental Health Specialist, and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Women Juggling it All

Join us for a free and anonymous resiliency circle. A safe space for the farm/agricultural community to share ideas, challenges and successes around farm/agricultural life stress and stressors. Each circle kicks off with a segment related to juggling it all and then the conversation is opened up for whatever participants have on their minds. Participants can listen, share comments and questions via text or verbalize their thoughts. The sessions are anonymous - participants do not see names or faces. Circles are not recorded. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the Circle. December Circle facilitated by Monica McConkey.

This presentation explores the unique pressures farmers, and their families face during the holiday season, from financial strain and unpredictable weather to juggling it all and social isolation. Dr. Mack will share practical, culturally responsive strategies to recognize stress indicators, strengthen coping skills, and foster connection during this high-pressure time of year. Through a resilience-focused lens this session enables participants to nurture their own wellness and uplift others during the holidays and beyond.
